I reluctantly have to ask this question. I am trying to setup a box with OpenSer and Asterisk, *for learning purposes only* (although future employment is a slight possibility), my intended goal is that I will be able to let specified IP's (friends) connect to the server who will be given a choice of who to contact via IP phone (basically my wife or I) and just some basic menu options served up by Asterisk for fun. I am currentl [05:33] y reading the OpenSer docs, and am currently setting up the mysql modules [05:33] Now for the questions, for one, when I run openser_mysql.sh create, why is it asking me if I want to install SERWEB tables? I'm not sure what this is, and it's not in the INSTALL doc, another thing is before I run the openserctl utility, i'm supposed to set SIP_DOMAIN, however I do not have a domain pointing at this IP, what should I set here? The only other domain reference I have is 'pbx' pointing to localhost, in my hosts file, and that's [05:33] for mysql's sake. [05:33] Currently running debian stable 2.4 kernel, and everything has been installed via apt. [05:36] hmm dunno about the sIP_DOMAIN, but I dont think you need SERWEB unless youre actually using SERWEB (the web interface thing) [05:36] but it certainly wont break anything to install the tables [05:38] CunningPike (n=CunningP@S010600095b33697f.vc.shawcable.net) joined #openser. [05:41] ok, i'll just do it anyways, it's not a security risk right? [05:41] probably not, its just mysql tables [05:41] ok, thank you. [05:43] I wonder about just registering a free dns name, like yi.org, usually useful for dynamic ips, could I then set SIP_DOMAIN to that? I'm only concerned about it breaking something and only listening to local or something along those lines. [05:43] Sorry, i'm half thinking, half chasing my son around, he's gone on a rampage and is tearing everything up. [05:44] hahah [05:44] i dont think I've ever even seen the SIP_DOMAIN setting, lemme see if i have it set to anything [05:44] ok [05:45] 4) optionally, watch server's health using the [05:45] openserctl utility [05:45] - to do so, first set the environment variable SIP_DOMAIN to your domain [05:45] name, e.g., in Bourne shell, call [05:45] export SIP_DOMAIN="myserver.foobar.com" [05:45] that's from the INSTALL doc [05:49] oh [05:49] i doubt you need that [05:49] environment variable, not really needed to run openser [05:50] and openserctl should work fine without it [05:53] oh ok, that's perfect, thank you kindly. :) [07:45] L|NUX (n=linux@unaffiliated/lnux/x-10290) joined #openser. [18:38] ok lets see if anyone can help me out with this :P [18:39] i am sending outbound to multiple carriers, and I'm using failure_route[1] to check for replies from the carriers and do something depending on the reply [18:39] right now under the failure route I do if (t_check_status("503")) and then act on it [18:40] if theres any way I can check the status AND the actual text status (ie. "Service Unavailable") AND the IP that the message was received from [18:40] not all carriers are sending the same errors but I'm assuming that they are and I need to separate things around [18:48] toombaloomba: texops module can search anything in your messages [18:49] I would say use a tool like ngrep or ethereal to check how your status messages looks like and then filter these things into your routing script with search() [18:51] oej (n=olle@apollo.webway.se) left irc: [18:54] and get the IP using the same? [18:54] I could live without the actual status message if I can do it by IP [18:56] Nix (n=Nix@85.105.18.36) left #openser. [18:58] u can check the ip with avps [19:00] http://openser.org/dokuwiki/doku.php/pseudovariables:1.1.x [19:01] there u can find source ip of the message [19:01] sorry, I said avps, but I mean pseudovariables ,_) [19:08] yea I tried one of those and it went all goofy on me, guess I'll have to experiment with it some more [19:08] at 3am when theres not much traffic going through it :( [19:09] I would recommend u to check first with printing it to log [19:10] oej (n=olle@apollo.webway.se) joined #openser. [19:10] if your ip is matched $si= your ip, print a message to syslog [19:13] yea I need to mess with it some more, thanks [19:13] thats a quick fix till I can figure out search and textops which I've neve used [19:14] I think I used if (search_body("blah")) but I dont think that searches the header, maybe thats why it didnt work [19:16] u don't have the source ip in headers [19:16] u can have something in via [19:17] but with pseudovariables u can check exactly based on who is sending u the packet [19:22] yea i used pseudovars to log enum when first setting it up, youre right it should work fine [19:28] CrazyTux[m] (n=CrazyTux@pool-71-116-68-224.snfcca.dsl-w.verizon.net) joined #openser.
